A positive, powerful collaboration

Picture
The Access to Justice Foundation is the result of collaboration between the Bar Council, Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Law Society and the voluntary sector (represented by Advice Services Alliance), supported by the Judiciary, the Ministry of Justice and the Attorney General's Office.

The Foundation works strategically with a matrix of seven Legal Support Trusts across England and Wales to help in the overall effort to provide practical “access to justice” to those unable to afford help.

Raising new and additional money to support free advice provision

The Foundation receives pro bono costs awarded in cases where the lawyers for the winning party were acting for free. If you provide free representation for a client, please ask the court to award pro bono costs.

We ask law firms to donate their firms dormant client account balances to the Foundation. If your firm has any unclaimed client balances please consider donating them to us.
